Not his choice. Just like that clerk in KY that would not issue marriage licenses. If you will not do the job as it is defined at the executive level, do not take the job.

If the executive level people are not following the law, it is the responsibility of the courts.

Not my problem. My property taxes shouldn't have to go to pay for illegals in schools while the classes go unfunded and teachers have to pay for supplies out of their own pockets. THAT IS WRONG PERIOD.

What's more wrong is that illegal immigrants are so brazenly allowed to be here in the first place. Anytime any government authority or employee (including public school teachers or cops) learns a person is illegal, they should be reported straight to immigration and proceedings to deport should begin. That is what ideally should happen.

1) We need a wall around Hawaii

2) If he is a public school teacher fire his ass!

3) Impeach Trump.

4) problem solved.

What ideally should happen is that those who employ undocumented workers be penalized for hiring them--and make it a penalty that will hurt enough that they stop.

But we don't go after the cause of the problem, we only look at and attempt to address the results. Which means we will never solve the problem.

Ask the teachers if they care whether their self-funded pencils are going to children who are citizens vs. children who are not, and I'd be willing to bet that 95% of them don't care.

And according to SCOTUS, they're not allowed to care or not care

Exactly.

Freezing assets until the correct penalty can be assessed would stop illegal immigration in a heart beat.

Though folks will keep insisting that there are those who come here for other reasons than a job, the great majority are looking for jobs.

The wealthy don't want to lose their housekeepers, wait staff, chefs, gardeners, vineyard workers, chicken pluckers, roofers, etc... so they carry on about the wall and ICE raids. But it's all for show.

Employer penalties were stripped from Reagan's amnesty bill and here we are.

cool, so now racist right wing thinks teachers should be able to set policy. Sounds like a great idea. and we will let doctors set their own standards too.

The rightwing nut jobs love to see protests and objections when it aligns with their demented and hateful world view.
