Nah. It was a way to expedite communications to someone who received hundreds of emails daily.
From the article:
Quote:
He is far from being a climate change denier, however. With Tillerson as CEO, Exxon acknowledged in 2006 that climate change is a problem. The company later endorsed a carbon tax and backed the Paris climate agreement....
If you think Secretary Tillerson is keeping a low profile, it is only because you are comparing him to John Kerry, for whom the word 'hubris' was invented.
Remember his bringing James Taylor to Paris to give the French 'a hug?'
After such a laughable example of diplomatic idiocy, probably a good thing that we have a quiet professional in that role now.
By low profile I mean:
Not taking ANY questions at public media events
Not taking the press with him on trips;
Not allowing the daily State Dept. briefings until just a few days ago;
Uttering literally a few hundred words in public since taking his position
I think it's great that somebody takes over a new job with tremendous responsibilities and actually takes the time to learn the job, consolidate his staff and get everyone on the same page before he goes shooting his mouth off to the media.
Don't you wish the last two SOSs had done the same thing...?
Oh...and on Tillerson NOT EVEN KNOWING that Mexico's Foreign Minister was even in DC!!! The FM (equivalent of Sec State) met in DC with Jared Kushner.
other than ensuring his sweetheart Russian deal with Exxon goes through and maybe building out his Rolodex a bit more for when he goes back to XOM I'm not really sure why Tillerson took this job. trump has slighted him and the state dept at every turn, setting him up to fail and be further marginalized...
Kushner same thing- I mean I get it they'll make crazy $$$ while Trump is in office, but once he goes Kushner's name will be tarnished in NYC business circles where his family makes their bones forever...I guess he's not bright enough to look that far ahead....maybe when he brokers that Israeli peace deal anyway like Trump said he'll get back in good graces...
