(& bet some of those so called "poor" counties are labeled "poor" because of real estate value.)

Where are they going to get the funding?
From 22 different sources that isn't the Federal Govt. (who evidently is only providing 3-5% anyway).

Aren't you the sweet one.

A lot of people everywhere are overweight.

Most of them are not the " oldest of the olds" who depend on these meals.

I can guarantee you, no one is getting/staying fat on meals delivered by MoW.

That way they could check on the health and well being of the recipients. Most drivers entered the house to open cartons, etc. That enabled a brief visit. The meal could readily also be enough for dinner It had a salad, entree, 2 veggies, dessert, fresh fruit, bread and milk.

I told a relative to put her elderly in laws on the program in their town. The meals are now 8.00 each. Her in laws decided that lean Cuisine was better food and it was cheaper to hire a grocery shopper. The program they were on was tax payer funded and run by the county.

Can a lean cuisine check on the recipient and help them if they've fallen, or if they're having a medical emergency? Can a LC give maybe the only human companionship that person has all day? I know for a fact, some on my route enjoyed talking to me just as much as they needed the food.

You somehow missed the fact that he was the Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (the satellite image intelligence agency) at the time. Yes, he was the main player who authorized the Iraq WMD assessment in that October 2002 NIE, based on his agency's satellite image recognizance.

That's why he took the blame in his testimony to Congress instead of throwing a subordinate under the bus.

It's got nothing to do with the stronger voice and everything to do with who has more $$$.

And if that makes me an SJW, it's a badge I'll wear proudly, better than being one of the sheeple.

Not that I dont think MoW is a ok program but do people really believe one meal delivered at lunch time is making the difference in someone needing to go to assisted living or staying at home.

The person delivering the meal is an unpaid volunteer. Pulling the feds portion of the funding isnt going to affect a persons desire to volunteer to check on or visit with an elderly person.

I once worked for state/fed funded program. One of the things we did was distribute commodities on site. On my own time and unpaid I volunteered to deliver these commodities to a couple elderly women who where shut ins. Yes, they enjoyed my company and at times I would spend an hour just visiting. Federal funding was not an issue.

Meals on wheels is an invaluable service. In addition to the sustenance it provides it is also provides the only interaction some of these folks get with other people.
