Using tax dollars to help those in need is more fair and equitable.
Like I said, I'd be all for a penalty tax on those who don't donate/volunteer. Share the responsibility.

The federal government is Constitutionally tasked with protecting our national sovereignty, and funding the military. It's their job to control immigration and national defense.

It's not the federal government's job to to tax the people in order to play meals of wheels to the citizens of every state.

The states are fully capable of taking care of each other. It's stupid for the federal government to tax the people, only to wash it thru a bloated bureaucracy, and give a reduced portion of that money back to the people it took it from in the first place.
It's a sliver in the budget we'll be spending more to protect Melania and have Trump commute to the White House. Sad!

I'm shocked so many boomers don't care that seniors are starving and the crumbs we offer are being taken away. Then again I'm not.

So this is the budget that the Christian right who are always screaming about their "deeply held religious beliefs" want? Wow, cruel, cruel people. What was it that Jesus said about clothing the poor and feeeding the sick?

This attack on the under 35 is a constant -- it happened when we were under 35 too.

My kids are much more aware than I was of volunteering, donating, charity, giving, community outreach. I find each generation becomes more and more aware.

Do they do as much as the older generations -- perhaps not but that may be more of a cycle of life thing.

They will give back as they mature.

But the constant attacking of the younger generation for problems that exist today -- hmmm - kind of out line don't you think.

It's not their place to think of us. We are quite capable. I'll focus on senior issues -- they can focus on things that matter to them.

I don't. the narcissistic under 35 crowd is self absorbed and don't care unless it affects them personally.

I dont think it is. Too busy worrying about their own lives to care about others. I've seen more charity in the past up until about 15 years ago, it started to go down hill.
