They "lose" because they keep voting Democrats into office to lead their cities. They are like an addict-doing the same thing over and over again- expecting different results.

So when is Trump going to go in and fix inner-cities like he said he would on the campaign trail?

Trump's border wall is estimated to cost anywhere between $20B - $30B. Do you think that money would be better spent on helping fix urban neighborhoods? Or is literally building a giant wall more important?

I live in the fringes of metro Atlanta. There are suburbs that have gotten more poor and inner city people living in them. Some of those suburbs have next to no public transportation. I can go to places like Douglasville, Lithia Springs, and find people walking around, in some cases on streets with no side walks. This isn't the inner city.
Is that because of gentrification in the city and pushing people further out? What I see is many suburbs of large cities actually also gentrifying so it is worrisome to see suburbs become poor. Perhaps these areas already had problems? Of course poor people have to go somewhere. I just cannot see people too poor to have a car living in suburbs unless the area is quite bad.

The problem is you have 200 million people trying to cram into 5 cities the US is a country that wastes a lot of its cities. There's tons of small cities with a population between 30k - 300k or so with infrastructure that can handle population growth. We don't need metros with millions of people to add millions of more people to it. It must be horrible to have one of those IT or software developer jobs where you're forced to live somewhere you don't really want to and have 60 pct of your paycheck go to the rent.

The wall will be money better spent. Government has thrown billions of dollars to "fix" inner cities over the years, and it has NOT worked. Giving away more $ is not the answer. When these folks decide to quit having one illegitimate baby after another, and that they'd rather work than collect welfare- the "fix" can begin. Victimizing people only creates a victim mentality, where they are not responsible for their actions. I feel bad for the children born into these areas, but their parents can have a lot more influence on their lives than the gov't can thru handouts and creating a dependency. The first step is for Fathers to actually be Fathers- that would make the biggest difference in "fixing" this problem. It's called personal responsibility, and most folks hate that concept in todays America.

Guess Donny was lying again to inner city residents and his african american!

Combined with school vouchers, looks like teaching the man to fish is going to be trending. That giving them a fish thing, was causing too much resentment from those they had to steal the fish from.

Ever hear of "tough love" It works. I had to use it on my sister after our dad died. He was taking full care of her alcoholic ass. Well, she has straightened her chit out. Now, she holds a decent job and has no time for the alcohol. As she has bills to pay.

Some do not understand, "the cart before the horse" concept. They want that cart to not need the horse!

Google "HUD misuse of funds" and see all the corruption in the agency over the years.

Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Jacksonville, led by Republican mayors. Blacks in the inner cities are still doing badly. Miami has been led(and still led) by Republican mayors. Miami Blacks are among the poorest Blacks in the USA. Blacks in the inner city do badly no matter where they are. Blacks who attain a better income and education, many of them often leave, and never come back.

What would be better? Adding more? It's done such a great job already lifting people out of poverty, right?
