The 1st amendment: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/9UDwCzp3UmA/maxresdefault.jpg
However, there is freedom of religion and freedom from religion and where do we cross that fine
line concerning the separation between church and state? What if I was Jewish, Buddhist...?

This video and discussion would be more appropriate in the religion and spirituality forum.

When it comes to separation of church and state and the conservative attack against it, there are two things at play. The first is the belief that there should be state-sponsored cultural Christianity. The second is that laws should be passed to force everyone to adhere to Christian morality. I don't think there is any issue with a political leader proclaiming their religious faith, but the government itself needs to remain neutral towards matter of religion. There is a big problem with laws being passed to impose religious dogma on the unwilling, whether that's through school prayer and/or creationism in Biology classes or individual liberty restrictions (same-sex marriage, alcohol on Sunday, marijuana, etc). I think the latter is still way too prevalent in this country.

Religion and spirituality forum is weird. If there is even a hint of politics in the religion discussion the people there will cry and report the heck out of it. Sometimes I think religious folks are their own biggest enemies or else there are a lot of trolls over there. Beats me why it's that way but it is.

Separation of Church and State---

...is a phrase that does not actually appear in the U.S. Constitution, contrary to popular belief.

Based on what?

How does making no law regarding the establishment of religion NOT free those who choose to be so from religion?
