So you can't come up with any names.

Thought so.

Business promotes whatever stimulates commerce and generates return on investment.

Business raises prices when possible and cuts costs when possible. As a general rule there is no 'agenda' as such except enlightened self interest.

All true.

The push for illegal immigrants has ALSO been backed by the corporations to help with jobs that can't be off-shored.

All that alongside the lie that Americans won't do those jobs and that adding millions of people to the blue collar labor pool defies the laws of supply and demand and doesn't hurt wages for blue collar workers in general.

Kinda made me want to puke when I was driving home and listening to NPR as the democrats were grilling the Supreme Court nominee about being too corporate and mean to women, illegals etc.

Let's face it, the major political parties have just gotten more sophisticated at delivering BS and the public is just as dumb as ever.

They sourced their claim, click on the link and if it doesn't answer your question then you have a legitimate beef. All you've proven is that you're refusing to click on a link.

I clicked on the link, and now he wants me to click on another link.

He said that big corporations gave money to Trump and I asked him to name some of them.

It's very simple: "Shell Oil, BP. Goldman-Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, etc."

If he can't do something that simple, then I'm not going to waste my time with him.

Just as simple to click on a link. You're just being difficult. Or you don't understand any of the names on the list, or both. My bet is on both

But, what did the people at the top spend the money on? Mainly real-estate and luxuries. But a sizable portion of those luxury goods are in technology. And part of that technology is used in weapons for the military. Let-alone the fact that America's technology sector has been a significant portion of the economy for decades(IE 90's tech boom).

In the case of real-estate, we have attracted a lot of foreign buyers, especially from oil-rich countries in the Middle-East and Russia. They are bringing the dollars we sent over there, back here.

Yes, the top 0.1% have taken their money and bought up assets like real estate, stocks, and bonds. And young people in the 99.9% are getting screwed as a result: they are paying inflated prices for houses and stocks. In the few remaining areas with good paying jobs, houses are so expensive that six figure incomes barely support a lower-middle class lifestyle. Massive mortgages mean fat interest payments to the ultra-rich banking class.

You can see how capitalism makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. The middle class also gets the shaft because their taxes must increase to pay for the ever-growing welfare class that results from the poor getting poorer.

Think the super-rich pay for most of the welfare? Think again. The super wealthy make most of their money from capital gains rather than ordinary income. Capital gains taxes are much lower than top income rates. Warren Buffett famously pays a lower tax rate than his secretary. For some reason, the middle class tends to side with the rich rather than the poor. I guess it's easier to side with the bully than the victim, just like on the playground.

The question is, why does capitalism exist?

And more-importantly, why did the Soviet Union actually fail? And why is China successful?

As for the middle-class, its like George Carlin said it was...

"The upper class keeps all of the money, pays none of the taxes. The middle class pays all of the taxes, does all of the work. The poor are there just to scare the **** out of the middle class. Keep 'em showin' up at those jobs."

Right now the 0.1% has the bottom 99.9% fighting amongst itself over tribal identity issues. And the 0.1% is laughing all the way to the bank, as the 99.9% are forced to work longer and longer hours for less and less pay.
The little bit of leftist inside of me leftover from college keeps telling me that these supposed identity politics, the social justice warrior cries of racism are what Marx was talking about when he said the ruling class use racism as a way to divide the working class.
Perhaps the ruling class isn't this right wing bogeyman but a real deal liberal elite. Marxism also says that ruling class ideas trickle down into the general populace tearing down old norms and customs, molding society after their own beliefs.

I'm surprised leftists don't point to liberalism or neo-liberalism as the source of their defeat? The right wing always has to fight for power but it's liberalism that's entrenched in the ruling class culture. Corporate owners and liberal politicians don't care if you talk about identity politics they just don't want you talking about socialism.

I mean don't you guys find it weird that Bernie was ahead over Clinton for a while and the DNC crushed him through rather shady means? In the latter half of the campaign, class politics was all but forgotten and identity politics stormed in and took hold of the show.

I'm not sure what you are asking here. I assume you are talking about the failure of most communist countries.

We are not forced to choose between "pure capitalism" and "pure communism."

The most successful countries in the world have mixed economies with both capitalist elements and social spending. The Nordic countries are the most successful countries in the world in terms of quality of life, and they have robust social programs.

Carlin is absolutely correct.
