TBH accusing someone of treason is a bit more serious than accusing someone of failing to follow federal document retention policies. For the FBI to confirm the existence of its investigation likely means they've already built a substantial case against the Trump administration. Otherwise, they'd be in the same position they were in back in October/November where they announced the discovery of new emails that ultimately led to nothing.

Why did he tell house committees there is no evidence so far recently. As soon as Trump went with that stupid allegation about Obama wire tapping, Clapper and other dude came on to TV quickly and announced there is no proof of Trump team colluding with Russia along with wire tapping. At this point he looks like investigating Trump team collusion and Flynn issue. He seems to be hiding lot of information though. He has been investigating this for some time. He never updated some of the branches for some time.

And Trump still won the election. Priceless.

While many Republicans despise Trump, he is useful to them to sign off on bills they want passed. They are also afraid that if the scandal gets out of control and impeachment hearings begin that they will lose their House and Senate majorities. It's in the interest of the Republicans to try to sweep this under the rug if they can.

Me thinking it but you writing it now makes it obvious that something on the level of treason is going on.

No he didn't. Clapper was referring to the January 6 summary document that did not list any info about the FBIs ongoing investigation. Comey clarified this in the hearing. Clapper also resigned on January 20th, so anything that came to light since then would not be known to him.

There is absolutely no way there is this much shady crap with everyone surrounding Trump and so many bizarre ties to Russia, Putin, and foreign governments without anything being there. There is no question Trump and his team are in deep, but just like Watergate, it may take awhile to compile all the evidence.

If not outright treason, definitely espionage. The Trump team is in deep, no question.

I didn't hear Comey say there "there is no evidence so far." The only thing he confirmed there was no evidence for was the substance of Trump's tweets.

Clapper can only say what he has seen. He obviously left office on January 20th and stated that any evidence of collusion would have come after he left office. For some reason, some people are wishfully thinking that Clapper was saying THERE IS NO EVIDENCE AT ALL when those aren't the words that came out of his mouth.

It's so bizarre to me that Republicans and Conservatives are so desperate to defend Trump and ignore this. It's like they want Russia to get away with attacking us, and they're perfectly fine with Trump working for the Kremlin. They act like Putin won't ever turn on them too. They hacked the RNC too. No question Putin has dirt on Republicans that he can release whenever he wants.

Shouldn't all good Americans be opposed to Russia attacking us and government employees working with the Kremlin? Reagan would be rolling in his grave over the Republican love of Putin now.
