Aside from the stupidity of trying to manufacture cover for Trump's tweets, the major beef now is that Nunes was coordinating with the White House and lying about it when he's supposed to be independently investigating them.
I see. Pure speculation - as is most of the anti-Trump rhetoric.
the NYT report says "Two White House Officials" - not staffers. They both worked in National Security matters. Why didn't anyone else bring this information forward ? The collusion seems to be from the intelligence community not to disclose everything they have since it will likely go right back to Obummer.
The NYT just broke a story naming two WH officials who provided Nunes with the information that he dutifully fed back to them the next day:

Didn't the NYT also report something about FISA warrants that many have since said was not true, that there were no warrants?

I described the events as reported by the NYTimes, which I consider a credible source. If you don't, then I doubt there's any argument I could make that would lead you to reconsider.

True, it IS hard to keep all the stories straight. But I think the FISA warrant story is pure Hannity. Well, almost pure. Heat Source started it but Sara Carter has been pushing it big on Hannity.
The NYT story was about electronic surveillance ("wiretapping") of Trump associates. Comey later confirmed there ARE ongoing investigations of the associates plus went further than that Times story in adding that ties to the Campaign itself are included.
No info from Comey on FISA warrants. Or, for that matter, investigative methods. But since old-fashioned wire-tapping and stalking are largely replaced by the digital, we can probably safely assume there IS some type of ongoing electronic surveillance.
The questions are - WHO, WHAT, WHEN, HOW, WHERE.
We know how Trump wants to fill in the above blanks. All without making himself an investigative target - which always struck me as a tad tricky to pull off.
