Bob Woodward: Obama officials possibly facing criminal charges for unmasking scheme | Washington Examiner

"The Washington Post's Bob Woodward warned on Wednesday that there are people from the Obama administration who could be facing criminal charges for unmasking the names of Trump transition team members from surveillance of foreign officials."

Would be incredibly awesome if previous admin officials names are "unmasked" and they are exposed and charged in return for what they did. Chickens comin' home to roost.

Bob Woodward came to national attention for bringing down President Nixon.

This, in much the same sort of thing that now seems to have been put forth by the Obama administration.

He did not mention Obama in the clip. Looked it up on a not so pop-uppy site as the one in the OP.

Woodward said that releasing the names of Americans who were wiretapped is a gross violation. He didn't mention Obama. You all are pulling at straws (again) to blame your big black boogey man Obama lol.

FYI Woodward also said that the surveillance was legal, that the people who were under surveillance could legally be wiretapped and that these were diplomats. Said diplomats had "gossipy" conversations and Woodward stated "you can learn a lot from the gossip of diplomats."

None of this places any blame on Obama. It is interesting that you all are doing your dam dest to try to make the actual surveillance a criminal act, ignoring that it was legal and not ordered by Obama, and also that all of what was collected has not been released and there is an ongoing investigation.

Now they are on to the "unmasking" issue and Obama doing the unmasking.

in this situation the obama officials would be the equivalent to "deep throat" ( FBI associate director mark felt ).

The article says that Woodward said...

"under the rules, that name is supposed to be blanked out, and so you've got a real serious problem potentially of people in the Obama administration passing around this highly classified gossip."

Did Woodward not say that?

The legal issue is not the surveillance... it's the leaking.

Trump only mentioned the surveillance. It's sounding like he was correct.

Bob Woodward simply proposed an IF/THEN scenario: IF the Obama administration unmasked names, THEN the could face criminal charges.

We know this, right? Don't need Bob Woodward to tell us this. Did Bob Woodward find proof they Obama or his people unmasked names? If they did, then they could face charges. I think this was discussed several days ago.

What is the revelation here?

There is no doubt about leaks coming from the Obama people that still linger under Trump.

They should all be rounded up and charged.

Who leaked Trumps 05 tax return? That is against the law.

The suspicion is that Trump's own team leaked it.
