What a pleasant surprise to hear this from you. Kudos for an excellent and concise description of what we need. I just heard that the attempt to reduce the ACA and take coverage away from perhaps more than 20 million people, has completely failed in the House. The Republican leaders pulled the bill, to avoid the further embarrassment of taking a vote that failed.
The Republicans have become so fragmented, that they are paralyzed and unable to exploit their congressional majorities. My advice to republicans is to get together with democrats and fashion a new health-care bill, that really will benefit the ordinary people of this country.
This may impair Trump's and the Republican's ability to push the rest of their agenda, such as judicial confirmations. The current Supreme Court nominee, who was encountering difficulties, may be even less likely to succeed. It will be interesting to see what the polls say next week, about the already low approval-rating of congress.
I'm not the ideal Republican. I actually believe that there are essential services that should not be trusted to for profit business. Imagine the growth of small business in this country if healthcare was no longer an issue.

Trumpcare had terrible support even among Trump supporters. And Trump expects Democrats to vote for this awful bill that rips away health care for tens of millions of ordinary Americans and provide massive gifts to the richest people in the country?
He said we will now see Obamacare explode. I was forced to buy ocare by penalty of law. So I will just ride out the subsidized care while it lasts...supposedly 2017 is the year the major taxes and all happens. Obama wrote the law so that it would fail after he leaves office. I assume so the Dems would have leverage for some sort of communist style health system similar to the VA or dmv lol

Take the billions upon billions of dollars of profit these sharks make off our healthcare and make going to the doctor affordable again. Break up Phizer and all the big pharma firms and give the research grants to universities and medical schools. Enough is enough.
Open a diagnosis based backdoor into Medicare/Medicade.
Take the catastrophic and traumatic level care that NO ONE can afford off the table.
Most everyone can handle the remaining petty stuff without insurance at all.
Those who can't handle that expense are likely on Medicare/Medicade to begin with.
More to the point... the basic levels of care SHOULD come out of pocket direct to the provider.
It was bad bill anyway that would have gone down in the Senate so the major fail happened when Ryan first proposed the thing. It never had a chance to become law.
I still want to know where this "beautiful thing" is that Trump promised us. All we see was Ryan's bad attempt at health care. Where is Trump's solution?
Yeah, where is it? Didn't he promise better health care for all at a lower price? Surely he had consulted his experts and had a plan.
We provide a basic level of education and we could provide a basic level of medical care. We already have Medicare that has no limit for pre-existing conditions. Do seniors want to give that up? They only contribute about a third of the cost; we pay the rest.
NxtGen equates anything on the left to communism. I still don't think he knows the true meaning of the word and he uses it to get a rise out of posters here.
I will give you the definitions NxtGen.

Socialism: a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
Capitalism: an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
