I expect that many republicans will be walking the plank and be replaced by younger, less-experienced candidates. Many of them may wisely decide that it's time to retire.
Some of them are already willing to cut ties to Trump. Those numbers will continue to increase. The SS Trump is already taking on water - - the rats will be jumping off sooner rather than later. It will be a delicious scene.

Trump and those proceeding him are the new normal. You had better get used to it!

You're going to have a tough time selling the necessary "half of the nation are Russian agents" narrative down the road. Just fyi.

Just getting warmed up! Trump has already did more for the USA in a positive way than Obama did trying to tear it down in 8 years.

I never, ever remember another POTUS that was expected to accomplish all of their goals in the first two months until President Trump was elected and the liberals, suffering from panties in a wad (yes, very uncomfortable), just keep harping about Trump not accomplishing his campaign promises.

Give President Trump time, by the time he completes his 8 years, we'll be "there"! The more anti-Trump threads here, the better we know Trump is doing.

Trump won by a small margin because the Dems ran the worst candidate in history, who stupidly ignored certain critical sections of the country in her arrogance.

No other Dem candidate is likely to make the same mistakes or run as horrible a campaign. This isnt the new norm by any means. It is the result of one horrible unliked candidate.

There is one Trump supporter who is tired of it.

"...One stood out. James Walker was wearing a red “Make America great again” baseball cap, sunglasses, a beard, a black North Face jacket and khaki trousers. He held aloft a sign that said: “I’ve made a huge mistake...

The 31-year-old explained: “I voted for Trump. I thought it would be a positive change, a change that Obama didn’t come through on, and it would shake things up. It has shaken things up but in a bad way. ”

I wouldn't be so sure. Clinton had a huge machine behind her, and a lot of experience. And she lost. Again. What makes you so sure that the Dems will be able to pick a better candidate in the future, or that they will run a better campaign with less candidate experience and less money?

What makes you so sure, especially after the way the liberals are behaving toward the candidate (Trump) of those critical parts of the nation, that those parts will be open to anything that the liberals have to say? After all, the demonization of those parts of the nation has been a central theme in the liberal playbook for a long time now.

Trump did not win by a small margin in the electoral college.

You haven't been paying attention to the nation if you think that people are moving toward the center. They are moving toward the political poles on both sides, and this trend is increasing. To win, you need people to move back toward the center. Due to the direction of liberal politics in the past decade, that isn't going to happen.

However, what I really meant by "the new normal" is not the prospect of democratic wins. What I meant was the political tone of the conservative party.

As I stated, people are moving away from the center. Just as you see now with the far Left influencing the ability of the Right to undertake certain actions, the further Right will have an ever increasing influence. When we do get people into office, they are likely to be further and further Right.

Eventually, assuming that the Dems can win again at all, they will have to take further Right perspectives into account. This is the new normal.

Push any further to the Left, and you will get an equal and opposite push-back from the Right. Our core agendas are inevitable in their success, just as your (short sighted) agendas were.

This is the lesson of political capital. You spent your on things like gay marriage, trannies in bathrooms, and agitating against "white privilege" and an innocent cop. Just like most of the left's views, these agendas revealed a short time horizon. Our agendas are mostly long time horizon. Immigration. Equal opportunity away from affirmative action politics. The integrity of the nuclear family. Etc.

The New normal demands compromise on social politis that are further away from the poles. Is this likely to happen? I doubt it. But the alternative is pretty scary. Conservatives have certainly compromised toward the new normal on far Left agendas. Now it's the Left's turn to recognize this new normal, and it seems like you are having a difficult time after such a long time of getting your way. That dynamic doesn't bode well for the nation, as the new normal isn't going to change anytime soon if ever.

Ha! Thanks for immediately proving my point. Good luck with that train of reasoning, dems!! Short time horizon, indeed.

And remember, half of the nation is still waiting to put McCarthy's plan into effect and route the nation of all socialist and communist (Russian) influence.

Are you guys not aware of even recent political history? The Russians are the communists. That reality is deeply routed into American psyche and political reality. You'd do well to remember that fact.

You seem to be moving us ever toward that possibility of eventually implementing McCarthyism in full. Appreciate it!
