Why can't we simply take healthcare coverage out of the hands of employers, making it totally portable, so people can leave one employer to go to another.....without it holding them back? Why don't we simply implement a healthcare tax, negotiate a base plan with the insurance companies, every citizen gets a voucher to cover the base plan they choose or to use "towards" a better plan if they so choose?

This way 100% of the citizens are covered, they are no longer beholden to their employer, the government does not run the healthcare system and the citizens can pick any plan across the entire country that THEY want to have.

Seems to me that would be a win all the way around.
