Can you imagine losing a child in a horrific shooting and then being harassed by people like this? Disgusting.
Will CNN be apologizing to conservatives attacked and assaulted by left wing nut jobs inspired by their lies?

If paranoid, delusional beliefs only hurt the believers, that would be bad enough. But, as this thread demonstrates, the delusions of paranoid people are often incredibly harmful and hurtful to those innocents who are the subjects or objects of those bizarre ideations.

Some paranoid people are just lonely, isolated and tortured. Others can lead generally functional lives, but, at the least provocation, can be taken over by their systematized delusions that set them apart from more well-balanced people. How emboldening it can be to find someone who not only doesn't reject you for your weird, externalized thoughts, but actually reinforces and feeds them with no regard for reality. And to the masses even. Paranoid expressions can be so bizarre, we can't know what action they may signal or where they may lead.

People with other mental health diagnoses like depression, anxiety, PTSD, for example, often realize there is something wrong and will seek out help to relieve their distress. Paranoid people, as with some other disorders, don't think there is anything wrong with them. The problem is always with those "other" people that don't believe like they do. So, of course, they seldom seek help unless it is imposed upon them. And they think those others just don't "get" things like they do. It gives them that much more reason to be angry, insistent and rigidified without regard for facts/rationality. Trying to argue with their unbalanced beliefs, though often way beyond warranted, is an exercise in futility as to its effect on the paranoid person.

If drugs or other mental disorders are part of the mix, the bad news can be worse.

Politics, religion and controversies can elicit/inflame delusions. (Especially apparent as part and parcel of the dysfunction visited upon us with this presidency.) Some posts would prove to be of high interest to mental health professionals (as is the goings on in the daily news from the White House). Examples perfect for the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders).

Too bad researchers can't learn how to osmose a cure through tin foil. Or L*ys Potato Chips.

Some people are just so blindly obsessed with their guns that they will suspend all reality. These ppl have guns and that is scary. Only sane rational people need to have guns.

Remember, Pizzagate has never been debunked despite what they want us to believe. You'd have to have it investigated for that to happen.
The pizza place had no basement or secret rooms. End of Conspiracy Theory.

People tend to believe the most outrageous things when it appears to validate their perceptions.

The guy who started Pizzagate was on 60 Minutes this past Sunday. He claimed his blogs are the truth because he believes them.

People like this laugh all the way to the bank.

The scarier thing than all the sandy hook deniers here is the fact that all other Trump supporters remain silent about this, thus approving the sandy hook crazies with their silence.

This must be a new CD record, only ONE post into the responses before the "oh jesus tapdancing christ" thought went through my head.

It HAS been debunked. There Is NO reality in pizzagate beyond that Ping Pong Pizza is very real )and delish, was there last week), was very much affected by loonies who think as your post indicates, and very much hurt his business where he has been an anchor of the community. Fortunately, that community has rallied to support them, and things are getting back to normal.

In the immortal words of Jack Nicholson:
Go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here.

That 60 Minutes piece made me hope that that guy has what's coming to him. What a complete douchebag.

No need to "debunk" pizzagate because only lunatics believe it.

I always hope that people who post things like this are not truly this delusional in real life, but after a few years here on this forum I sadly have to conclude that these nutjobs are for real. It's both sad and scary.
This link goes deep into what one Sandy Hook family has gone through and one dad's perspective. It's a long and worthwhile read given the dad says he was into conspiracy theories before his son was murdered.

The article gives a glimpse into the lives of the obsessed.

Imagine strangers demanding you exhume your child's body to prove he died.

I don't think "Pizzagate" itself involving that particular pizza place and owner were involved and that could've been purposely put out there to coin the term "fake news", but the child trafficking stuff....you'd be a blind sheep to think that it doesn't happen in real life. There are a bunch of sickos out there.

An average of 190 new cases of missing people, mostly girls, are reported missing each month in DC. This has been going on for decades and is certainly not unique to DC. 99% of these cases are closed by LE.

What has changed is public awareness. LE uses FB and Twitter to get the word out to get information to locate missing people.

This public awareness campaign has compelled some to build false conspiracies while ignoring 99% of cases are closed as in, the missing are located.

Posts about missing teen girls in D.C. are misleading, but the problem is real.

Conspiracy theorists had a field day with a fake news about a container full of black girls destined for an overseas shipment that was posted on FB:
