Undocumented? That sends up a red flag right there. Your link says that only 1/3 of Mexicans are visa over stayers. That means that 2/3 of them are border jumpers. It's possible that the number of visa over stayers have increase since my source however, as I said that will just have to be dealt with in a different way. That in no way negates the justification for a wall on our southern border to stop the border jumpers. No way has myself or anyone else said that only Mexicans are coming here illegally either but the fact is that most illegals here are Mexicans and other Latinos.

The Dems enforced immigration law. Obama carried out record numbers of deportations. A virtual wall made up of more border patrol agents would be a great start. We aren't getting a physical wall, it's too expensive, and it's not practical anyway. Trump should start by repairing our existing crumbling infrastructure. What happened to that promise?

Some years back, our daughter and son-in-law went to a Border Patrol job fair. The agent they talked to minced no words. He told them that if they were hired, they would be put on the graveyard shift and would be the only agent around for 70 miles. If they needed backup, none would be coming anytime soon.

The only wall that's going to be built is the one you have dreamed up in your minds. The government can't even get funding to rebuild one NY-NJ river tunnel, what makes you think they'll start building almost a 2000 mile long wall when they can't build a ~2 mileong tube?
Go after the EMPLOYERS, treat the underlying disease, not the symptoms! Hire more ICE to remove those that stay, and hire more CBP to prevent them from crossing over. Those are very practical, and effective. Can be done quickly.
It might be cheaper to just declare war on Mexico and occupy the place. I think we have very legitimate grounds for war. Their corrupt government is complicit in moving drugs and creating huge amounts of crime in the US.
We invade, occupy and then hunt down and kill the cartel top to bottom. Have the people vote to either be several states in the US or elect their own government with permanent US bases to watch them.
I honestly don't care if it gets built or not ... they could probably just use more advanced technology to monitor the border and ramp up deportations and so on and it would probably achieve about the same effect with less money.

Per the bolded --- No one is talking about building "almost a 2000 mile long wall". Kind of kills your rant, doesn't it? The wall will be 800 miles and it won't be contiguous as some terrain is dangerous to traverse, thus no wall needed in those areas.
When Bill Clinton was president, a wall was built between San Diego and Tijuana. That wall drastically cut down on both crime and illegal crossings.
No one said that employers won't get targeted. However, you well know that is only part of the solution.
Why are you willing to leave the border unprotected? You know darn well that Puerto Ricans have been really hurt by illegal immigration. So many native born PRs have been victims of ID theft by illegals that the PR government declared all PR issued birth certificates null and void. Now when native born PRs need a copy of their birth certificate, they have to jump through several hoops to get a certified and secured copy. Where is you compassion for your fellow PRs? After all, without a wall, the border will remain just about unprotected. You also know that it isn't just illegals looking for work that are sneaking in. Drug smugglers and OTMs who are coming to do harm to others also are sneaking in here.
Yeah, well maybe they can build a nicer rock climbing wall, with a visitor center.
