That beautifully illustrates Trump's pervasive ignorance - that he'd be "shocked" that ordinary people know something about history. I'll bet that if a year ago you'd asked him, he wouldn't have known. They're trying to spin it that it was a joke, but I doubt it.

I watched the clip, and I think that might have been Trump attempting self-deprecating humor.

Something that, frankly, he shouldn't attempt ever. That goes for both "humor" and "self-deprecating".

He just learned about her for this speech so he's surprised anybody else would know.

Did you know health care is complicated, dealing with govt. is hard......and you know what else --- hard to get three or four rounds of golf in when you are President.
