It seems they've been running and doubling-down on the Russia-Trump campaign connection without anything to show for it. Once the whole thing is dropped, are they (and the media) going to feel any repercussions?
Huh? Comey just gave an interview saying he tried to warn the country about it months ago. I'm no fan of Comey and it almost sounds like he's trying to get himself out of trouble somehow but there seems to be a lot to investigate.

Couldn't get to the second one to read it, but not a word in the first or third as to what Trump might have done to "collude."
There needs to be at least one of these hysterical liberal partisans who is willing to come out and say what it is that they are acutally accusing Trump of doing. We have heard a bunch of nonsense about "ties," "smoke," "connections," and "collusion," and not a single word about what it is that Trump supposedly did.

There will be no consequences whatsoever, because their constituency are a bunch of lunatics in the first place. This entire scandal is about wikileaks revealing that the DNC is filled with criminals. All that we have learned so far is that the Obama white house was too (since it was extremely unethical and possibly illegal to unmask Americans incidentally captured in an investigation).
In any sane world, the entire country would be demanding the forcible end of the Democrat party already.

Since Republicans are so eager to put this to bed, I'm surprised they are not demanding that those House hearings get underway again so that Trump can clear his good name.

Let's learn what the FBI and NSA have uncovered in their investigations.
Let's find out why Trump and his team keep showing up on other counterintelligence and criminal investigations.
Let's look at Trump's tax returns to see if there may be financial leverage being used on the poor man.

One of the talking heads on one of the news channels pointed out that Obama probably had Comey keep quiet about the contacts between the Russians and the Trump campaign because everyone, including Trump, believed that Hillary Clinton would win, and that Comey's revelations would simply give Trump, in the possible event of his loss, more reason to claim that the presidential election was fixed.

I mean the republicans weren't hurt the dozens of times nothing was found on Clinton all those times they had her investigated, why would it hurt the dems?.If there's suspicion don't you think something like this needs to be investigated? Also, if Trump and his team are so innocent why are they doing things that make it seem like they have something to hide?
Don't forget that it took something like 18 months for watergate to unravel, Comey himself has said the investigation oculd take weeks, months or even years. The house committee doesn't seem to be even doing much in the investigation front, so their results will take even longer. Hopefully the senate and FBI one are actually looking into the investigation well.

Yep. Massive mistake on their part. I'm sure everyone has a lot of regrets.

All those hearings and investigations worked for the Republicans.
Decades of digging, and all they ever came up with was that Bill lied about a blow job.
Republicans beat on Benghazi for years before finally admitting it was nothing but a partisan hatchet job.
But all the investigations and hearings painted the Clintons as shady characters, "Slick Willie" and "Crooked Hillary" in the minds of their loyal Republican base.
I hope these hearings drag on for years.
I hope one Republican after another gets caught up in Ryan's and Nunes' cover-up conspiracy.
I hope we hold hearings over every last bit of what the Russians were up to, was team Trump colluding with them, which Republicans are colluding with the cover-up...
It all needs to come out in endless hearings. Every last bit of it.
