Hillary was on one of the worst offenders of paying men more than women on her staff. Your question related to equal pay for equal work and everyone I know supports that.

What gets complicated is if you said, work in careers dominated by women such as social services should make equal pay as careers dominated by men such as engineering and IT. The problem is that the market determines pay and a good IT professional or engineering professional can make their company a ton of money but a social services specialist does not. Likewise, a professional athlete or famous musician can make a lot of money for their brand and they share in that. My point is the answer to the question is not so easy as some are pretending it is.

For instance, say I work in the marketing department of a big company. A new hire comes in and is doing the same exact tasks as I am. We're doing the same job, but I have earned raises in pay over the years. Why should a newly hired female be making the same as me just because she's doing the same exact job?

I will support it when women pick up the other half of the check when we On a date and when they are willing to keep finances separate in the event of a divorce. Men are the people who get creamed in the event of dating or a divorce.

Without going through 11 pages, are there any males or females that do't believe women and men should be paid differently for the same work? I doubt it.

I don't think you could find a handful of people opposed to such an abstract concept. The problem is that this story is a myth. Any difference in pay for equal work is the direct result of personal choices such as route of study, career choice, life/work balance choices, etc.

If this myth were true, and if women made 77% of what men make, female unemployment would be near zero while employers take advantage of saving 23 cents out of every dollar in payroll costs.

I'm for equal pay for equal work, by all means.

The problem with those who chant it is conveniently overlooking the "equal work" part

They compare job titles, pay scales, and *poof* make conclusions. Given their respective job titles, the question that must be asked is do men actually do more work? Do women actually do less work? The elephant in the room.

[Skeptical Flag On]
I rarely have seen a workplace where women did "equal work" with men. Invariably, men were called upon to do the "nasty work" that women would rather avoid, since they're the "fairer sex." [/sarcasm]

Is this a thread on the wage gap? Feminists perpetuate that nonsense even though it's been debunked many times. Women do get equal pay for equal work. What people are opposing is the fact that feminists want equal outcome, not equal pay. The idea that women get seventy seven cents for every dollar a man earns come from the amount they make per year. This doesn't take into account other factors that cause this. For example, men tend to choose jobs that are more financially beneficial whereas women tend to choose jobs that are more emotionally satisfying, these jobs don't offer as much money. This isn't because of misogyny or hostility toward women; it's because women are making the choice to take these jobs. Men also work more hours on average than women do and men are also on average more likely to negotiate raises. These make someone earn more money. If you want to make as much money as a man does then you have to do the same amount of work for it.
