The POTUS is alive and functioning 24/7. The Senate is not. The President must be allowed to take military actions as Commander-in-Chief. The Constitution wouldn't have given the POTUS that job unless the framers intended for actions of this type to proceed.
Which really has nothing to do with anything that has went on here. If Syria had sent planes here no one would complain if we shot them down.
Constitution clearly calls for congressional approval before President launches into war.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war. The President, meanwhile, derives the power to direct the military after a Congressional declaration of war..."
As Commander in Chief he can respond to an attack. Hence the nuclear football that accompanies him.
However, we were not attacked.
There simply is no Constitutional justification for Trump launching an attack on Syria.
Or Obama's attacks on Syria.......as I've said for years, when people refuse to hold one president accountable for something they can't expect others to be any different.

Please stop making a fool of yourself, every president as far back as Eisenhower launched some type of attack without congressional approval, Including your beloved hero Obama. https://theintercept.com/2017/01/30/...ar-old-sister/
I don't recall congress declaring war on Yemen.
While I do not approve of Pres. Trumps actions in Syria, as Com. in Chief he has the authority to do it.

That's a true but naive view that ignores the hypocrisy factor. An action by Obama, which Republicans state needs prior Congressional action doesn't need said approval when Trump is president. It's in the same section of the constitution labeled, "nominating while black," that says that a black president's nominees can be held up for his whole term while a white president gets his sailed through.
Jail Donald Trump
@DTrumpExposed
Food for Thought: If Hillary was President & ordered the Syria strikes how many who are praising Trump now, would have been condemning it?

Replying to @DTrumpExposed
If Hilary had done this, they wouldn't be using the runway the next day.
Wait - you cant see that Democrats are being hypocrites here too?
Obama used the military to strike multiple times without consent from congress.
Ironically, Candidate Obama himself said it would be illegal to strike a country without congressional approval. President Obama didn't care much.
Do you honestly care that a president does it - or do you just care that Trump did it?
Also, Obama made a record amount of small limited strikes - could you please share a link to you complaining about it - or were you accepting of it, because Obama is hawt?
P.S. Can you share with me a link where you are upset about Obama continually arming ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, etc....who are using Obama-weapons to kills Jews, Gays, Christians, Atheists, secularists, etc...Thanks Obama!!! Something tells me that you wouldn't tolerate Trump being that blundering.

There was no national interest to bomb Syria. Trump and the presidents before him did not have the authority, we just refuse to hold them accountable for their actions.

How do you know when Libre-tards are loosing a debate?
They vere off subject and throw out the racist card.
I guess you didn't get the memo, the race card is tired, worn out, and doesn't work anymore.

I am neither naive or hypocritical. I condemned Obama also. I am condemning Trump. I am simply pointing out why presidents can do whatever damn well they please. For others, yes the hypocrisy runs deep on both sides.
If you didn't condemn Obama's actions you have no leg to stand on to condemn Trump.
