Scooter Libby went to prison over outing an undercover CIA agent. Bush commuted his sentence after a few months.

Everyone else skated.

I realize that Obama had a lot to straighten out and this was likely the least of his worries.

But letting Bush and Cheney slide laid the groundwork for Trump.

Libby never went to prison.

And the same party does today, so why would it be any different?

Hillary voted for it as well, so maybe it would be different with her as POTUS?

if he has majority support, then he has flipped a lot of votes or no apparent reason other than being a Republican. That is not good.
I admit that when I first heard he had fired missiles I was not that unhappy--because I thought it showed that military minds had gotten him to see the value of a strategic strike and that would maybe make Russia even more than Assad reassess its actions...
But after reading how that strike was more photo op than actual strike I am SO dismayed...
Mattis --who I thought was one of the straight arrows in the Cabinet and a voice of reason and strength of purpose--has proven by his words that cloak the strike as successful when all rational evidence proves it was just style over substance that he is just a syncophant under Trump's or Kushner's (?) machinations to bolster Trump's ratings and deflect from the Russia connections...

THAT rationalization is a serious sign that there will be no port in a storm that we can trust for accuracy...
First the failed Yemen mission and now this costly, ineffective sham of a missile strike to put the fear of God into Assad--which was totally a waste...
Total about face from Nikki Haley and Tillerson about US foreign's policy just proves that Trump HAS NO foreign policy that is coherent and long term objectives...

And we have a heightened military/naval presence in waters off N. Korea--
That is even MORE dangerous than playing around in Syria...

Insert "partisan hacks" into and your statement would read correctly.

The Congress voted based on fabricated evidence, and those who misled Congress should have been held accountable, but were not.

As for Hillary, she probably would have wanted to do something similar as Trump, but would have been denied authorization by the Congress, like they denied Obama. Had she won, all her initiatives would have been stonewalled by the Congress. She would have been allowed to bomb ISIS, because of the existing authorization to combat terrorists, but that's pretty much it.

Trump did not get authorization. Hillary would have done the same. She has said as much.

It is what he does next that matters. One is supposed to have authorization to start a "war", but can get around that with targeted strikes.

We live in ever increasing dangerous times and POTUS' are basically playing the musical chair game with what nut job decides to use nukes or WMD first.

One way or another, no matter who the POTUS is, we will eventually be sucked into a Third World War. It's only a matter of time.

Hypocrisy on display. Congress never stopped Hillary for arguing to attack Libya and doing it. No one gave her permission to run arms out of Benghazi. No one stopped her when she argued for us to start attacking Syria.

You are the reason Trump can get away with this crap.

If Obama and Hillary had been stopped, there would be no President Trump.
