Today's growing number of radicalized liberals have been demonstrating less and less respect for the Constitution, nd even to duly passed Federal, state and local laws when those laws conflict with the leftist ideology. See "sanctuary cities", burning and destroying city streets in anti-Trump and BLM riots, etc.

What exactly ARE these people loyal to? What agenda DO they carefully follow, through thick and thin?

The Civil War is Here | Frontpage Mag

The left has rejected all forms of authority that it doesn’t control.
[They have] rejected the outcome of the last two presidential elections won by Republicans. It has rejected the judicial authority of the Supreme Court when it decisions don’t accord with its agenda. It rejects the legislative authority of Congress when it is not dominated by the left.

Schools don't teach the Constitution or Civics anymore. It's intentional.

Public schools in my area do. One of the reasons I moved here.

Sometimes not very accurately, though. "The 2nd amendment GIVES people the right to own and carry...."

I've had some teachers use the "well regulated militia" quote to make them think that it only applies to the military, law enforcement, national guard, and federal agencies.

It's not really the "well regulated militia" 'quote.' That's literally what the Second Amendment starts out with. It's only a sentence long. I know some people have short attention spans, but I don't see how you could get around mentioning first clause of the Second Amendment when covering the Second Amendment. It's not like it's a fifty-page dissertation where brevity and hitting the big points is necessary. It's one sentence.

We're getting off the topic of the thread.

Quote:
The left has made it clear that it will not accept the lawful authority of our system of government. It will not accept the outcome of elections. It will not accept these things because they are at odds with its ideology and because they represent the will of large portions of the country whom they despise.

That’s why compromise has become impossible.
The article in the OP points out that this is how civil wars start.

No one seems able to refute the idea.

Republicans are the ones that call for secession every time you lose an election
