Maybe you have misconception that it's nothing more than putting a top on a bottom on an assembly line. LOL

No,. There will not be.

There will be increased automation, just in time delivery, parts bin engineering to reduce the number of separate parts, designs that require the fewer components and every other advance/adjustment we have seen since the early sixties. What we might see is an increase in jobs related to shipping and the logistics of moving products. We might also see more jobs requiring specific ability to 'final assemble' products ranging from vehicles to buildings that were actually manufactured elsewhere.

And FWIW- Obama did create many manufacturing jobs- it just didn't change the fact that so many existing ones were also going away.

I doubt lack of building codes is going to inspire buyer confidence except among the ignorant.

According to your article Trump added 11,000 jobs in manufacturing and Obama added 12,381,000.....

If Trump adds 11 000 every month for 8 years, he will have added less than 100 000 manufacturing jobs in 8 years, which would probably be the worst of any president ever.

It takes years, and sometimes decades for changes in economic policy to impact the economy. For example, the financial deregulation that allowed banks to engage in derivatives trading happened in the '90s but the real estate bubble they caused didn't happen until the mid '00s and our financial system didn't collapse from it until 2008. Most of the slow growth we experienced in the first part of this decade was a result of the financial collapse in '08 which in turn was caused by the bundling of mortgages into derivatives which began in the '90s. The economy was being impacted by policy changes that happened 15 to 20 years earlier but took over a decade to fully manifest themselves.

Presidents usually get the blame when the economy is bad and the credit when it is good, but it is usually only deserved in the last couple years of their second term.

Long story short, it will be a while before anything Trump does impacts the economy.

You guys are aware that there is much more to manufacturing than just assembly lines , right ? Automation is and always will be a huge part of assembly, and isn't anything new. Most of it is currently doing jobs that are dangerous or unhealthy for humans to do. In automotive, painting and welding is highly automated.

Rather lofty claim that regulations account for 25% of a home's price. Do you even know what the Waters of the US act requires?

You don't really think that businesses add jobs because they think things might get better do you?

Really?

Oh dear. That's the problem. Trump can say anything and because people really don't get how it works, it doesn't matter.

As pointed out above -- first of all the increase is not significant. Second.....there were all kinds of industries that announced expansions prior to Trump even being nominated as the Republican candidate. That means more jobs. It has nothing to do with anything he has done.

But -- you can celebrate he hasn't killed them yet right? That's good.

It's okay to applaud Trump being able to sustain the growing economy that was left him. But it is a little naive to imply that anything he has done in the last two months has had a significant impact on job creation.

It may happen -- it just hasn't happened yet. And it smacks of desperation when his supporters keep suggesting there's a huge impact

If you did some research in this area, while educated forecasters predict there will be significant demand for goods, improved technologies mean that these goods are manufactured with robots not humans.

What the world will have a need for is people to program those robots, service those robots...not just hang out on an assembly line.
