Here is a map for CalExit (California Secession). Western California should secede. Give the southern part of east California to Arizona, and give the northern part to Nevada. The boundary should be I-15 for the north and the south.

If Trump builds the wall and kicks out all the illegals, SoCal would heavily be red and should join forces with Arizona.
I find the political evolution of California over the years, especially the southern part of the state, fascinating. The state was once a red-leaning swing state with Southern California leaning Republican and the Bay Area leaning Democratic (like Florida today). I think the idea of "the land of Nixon and Reagan" died sometime in the 1990s. The last Republican holdout in Southern California, Orange County, finally went blue in 2016. While I still believe SoCal is more politically diverse than the Bay Area, it's solidly liberal today and has more in common politically with the Bay Area than it does inland California. Why did this happen? Demographic change is a big one. I think the smoking gun, so to speak, is the fact that both halves of California have always been nearly the polar opposite of the South. The Republican Party, before George W. Bush in 2000, wasn't as entrenched in the South and Republicans had more appeal in places like SoCal.
I am against CalExit and I think it would be very bad for the US if California was to secede.
Let it happen. The West Californians can raise taxes on each other to support their pet outrage of the day, and their illegal aliens that they hire for pennies on the dollar for back breaking work. With any luck, Mother Nature will take care of the problem by giving us a huge earthquake that will break off west California right at that drawn line and plunge them all in to the ocean.
All of California, minus the 46% federal land that's not their land to take with them, should secede. We (the US) pull our military out and all federal offices shut down, a big economic loss. Democrats remaining in US lose 55 electoral college votes with CalExit. Three month's later, the US invades California who is unable to defend itself and California becomes CalNoMore. The land is redistributed to other states as spoils of war or sold. To maintain the equal distribution of stars on the American flag, Puerto Rico becomes a state. The End.
I'm for Calexit and would really like the entire left coast to go. CA, OR, WA and HI. All solidly blue states. Take your illegals and your liberal lifestyle with you.
Give the whole state back to Mexico. No need to secede.
There's so many Illegals there it would be a Natural fit. Of course they would suffer from an even more currupt goverment than we already have. They would probably save billions on prisons as Mexico doesnt have the cushy places we have here.

If CA were to ever really consider going, the entire west coast would go with them. in fact it is likely if a state can leave, then the east coast would leave too.
that would leave Texas carrying what is left of the USA and they would tire of it fast. Meanwhile without the dead weight of the "red" states " the coasts could go on to be great economic powers, and use the "red states" as cheap labor. We would likely give you guys temp work permits and allow you to "earn" citizenship in the coastal nations through service....
the big losers in any break up are not on the coasts.
