North Carolina -- some of the prettiest geography in the USA -- but boy oh boy -- they have some winner politicians.
Can't say I am surprised this idiot politician is from NC as they seem to have a lot of them there. Seems like much of the state is still very backwards. How else do you explain electing officials like this state rep and US Rep Virginia Foxx?
I just can't believe what is coming out of the mouths of Republicans these days. In just the last week:
WH Press Secretary Sean Spicer makes comparisons between Assad and Hitler and implies Hitler was not so bad. He then goes on to say he did not use chemical weapons against his people (ignoring the 6 million + Jews and others killed in the gas chambers at concentration camps). Making his comments even more insensitive was the timing of them during Passover.
Republican Rep. Larry Pittman of Cabarrus County-NC compared Abraham Lincoln to Hitler writing that Lincoln was the same sort if (sic) tyrant, and personally responsible for the deaths of over 800,000 Americans in a war that was unnecessary and unconstitutional.[LEFT]

We've become the party of the descendants of Jefferson Davis IMO Southern Republicans should leave the GOP and form their own party where they can put their bizarre, backwards views of race and culture on full display. Stop tainting the brand of Lincoln and sensible, center-right pragmatism with your racism, ignorance, and intolerance.
No one is defending MSNBC. MSNBC made the same mistake Spicer made. Neither are trigger worthy events. THAT'S THE ISSUE.
Neither is Spicer saying Atlanta when he meant to say Orlando.....or Waters saying Korea when she meant to say Crimea.
"TRIGGER Worthy" events should be like when Bush & his crowd said there were WMD in Iraq, they invaded the country and then we find out (thousands of lives and a Trillion Dollars later) that there weren't any WMD. Or when Obama said my health care (or health insurance) would improve and instead, the Premium went from $800 to $1500 (& service went down and the Deductible went up).
Trigger worthy is NOT Bill Clinton getting a BJ in the WH. It's his wife spinning and fiddling in Rome while letting Americans die in Benghazi.
Trigger worthy is NOT Obama's position on transgenders (who cares). Triggerworthy is our Debt going from 10 Trillion to 20 Trillion the last 8 years and we don't have ANYTHING to show for it & no one can tell us where the money went.
Children are "triggered".
Adults make a mental note of mistakes made, move on... and then focus on fixing problems or making money.

I was speaking to someone that has argued that MSNBC is fake news and not worth paying attention to. If we are going to compare the two, let's compare the two.

It's too late for that, WIHS. You guys invited the crazies in, and they have now taken over the party. Why would they leave when they are in full control of the GOP?
It's time for moderate (aka sane) Republicans to accept that truth and abandon the Republican party as a lost cause. We need a good centrist party in this country, and it would draw support from both sides of the aisle.
And more importantly, it would neutralize the imbeciles.
I wish the sane Republicans could regain control of their party but as long as their choice for President is an idealogue like Bush and Trump it won't happen. It has to start at the top
