I'm glad this happened. Now whenever some Trump supporter uses the Mail as an authority, I can use this as an example of why they shouldn't.
The Daily Mail has been forced to apologize to Melania Trump for calling her a ***** (prostitute). They also admitted they never had any proof of those allegations. That smear was parroted here by some as fact.
They also have to pay out several million in damages.
This was the lawsuit where she complained that it hurt her chances of monetizing the position of First Lady to sell "apparel, accessories, shoes, jewelry, hair care, skin care and fragrance".
That is good. The claim was nothing but sensational outrage and an attempt to stir controversy and sell a few more papers.
The Left tells us how words matter mostly when they are being critical of Trump and it is nice to see that they matter when they come as an unwarranted attack on Trumps wife.
