Melania blows off Annual Easter Egg Roll. A real First Lady would be interested in the events at the White House for kids--not just her own kid.
I heard today that there is no plan in place to have an Easter Egg Roll for children this year on the White House Lawn. Last year, the Obama White House had 37,000 attend. The Clinton Administration hosted 30,000 people. The other day it was reported that invitations to D.C. area school kids to attend had not been received. No A-List entertainment has been booked.
Apparently, the First Lady and her staff at the Visitor's Office usually plan the event. But Melania has been dragging her feet in filling various East Wing positions, including the Director of the Visitor's Office.
It looks like tickets have been "set aside but not delivered to local public schools, groups representing the military families and members of Congress, who say they have yet to hear about whether they could bring kids and constituents," according to Mercurynews.com.
The First Lady apparently is not planning to perform the duties of her position. Seems she's not interested in being First Lady, except for flying from NYC to Palm Beach to attend dinners with world leaders wives at Mar-a-Lago.
Another disappointment with the disorganized Trump administration. To quote Trump's tweets, "Sad."

Nice try Spicy, but the fact is they totally screwed up on this.
And the fact is that Michelle Obama used to be there to host military families and other children, and the self-centered Trumps are in Palm Beach so Donny can play yet another round of golf and Melania can sunbathe. So please you guys need to stop defending these WH pretenders. They could care less about anyone other than themselves.

There were definitely a lot of issues this year. Last I heard tickets had not been distributed. Up until today I heard Melania wasn't attending. Perhaps there was backlash and plans changed.
They waited until very late to order the eggs and couldn't get the quantities they needed, so expect a smaller event.
Wonder if Spicer will dress up as the EB again?
None of this is surprising since they are so far behind in hiring WH staff.
Thousands of little kids who get to participate truly enjoy it.
Presumably those little kids will live, or alternatively maybe they can hunt for eggs wherever they actually live.
