...Humor is subjective. One man's joke is another man's breaking point. It's all contextual...in that context, judging by their reactions..it was funny to them.
No-one gets to decide what is funny..objectively..and what is not. If the joke misses you..then move on.
For example, I find some people's reactions to this post much funnier than the actual link. But that's just me.
I think there is a school of thought though..that says that a lot of the Alt/right is composed of ageing baby boomers---and that the Millennials are waiting in the wings...just...waiting.
The culture wars..are a war of attrition and demographics. I leave it to the individual to discern who that favors..in the long run.

You just have to have had the parts of your brain that interpret humor and sarcasm damaged or removed to believe he was serious. Couple of questions:
How was what he said even remotely funny and what point was being made in which the grammatical tool of sarcasm could have been employed?
