"In the United States, most states give the meal a day or two before execution and use the euphemism "special meal". Alcohol or tobacco are usually denied. Unorthodox or unavailable requests are replaced with substitutes. Some states place tight restrictions. In Florida, the food for the last meal must be purchased locally and the cost is limited to $40.[2] In Oklahoma, cost is limited to $15. In Louisiana, the prison warden traditionally joins the condemned prisoner for the last meal. On one occasion, the warden paid for an inmate's lobster dinner.[3]
Sometimes, a prisoner shares the last meal with another inmate (as Francis Crowley did with John Resko) or has the meal distributed among other inmates (as requested by Raymond Fernandez).[4]
In September 2011, the state of Texas abolished all special last-meal requests after condemned prisoner Lawrence Russell Brewer requested a huge last meal and did not eat any of it, saying he was not hungry.... The abolition followed a complaint by a Texas Senator, John Whitmire (Democrat, of Houston), who called the meal "inappropriate".[5][6][3][7] The tradition of customized last meals is thought to have been established around 1924 in Texas.

"Final meals are generally limited to food that can be prepared on-site. Virginia prisons have a 28-day rotating menu—for example, hot dogs on the first day of the cycle, chili on the second day, etc.—and prisoners facing imminent execution are limited to one of the 28.
I sure don't trust our "justice" system with the power to execute people.
Besides many innocent people being on death row being later exonerated, I don't like the idea that our state and federal government condones executions. Sounds a little bit like the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany to me.
Can we really trust the government not to frame political opponents, only to have them executed?
Right now death row inmates can choose their last meal before getting executed. These low life murderers should not have that privilege that their victims never had to choose what their last meal is/was.
Yesterday another low life SOB ate his last meal of his choice " chicken nuggets " as he didn't wait for the fries.
IMO this is more than enough money spend on killers!

Capital punishment is one of the pillars of authoritarian big-government nanny states. All (and only) the great socialist and communist countries are doing it.
What kind of country would we be if we didn't execute people who may very possibly have committed a capital crime?
I would request a large lobster tail with drawn butter, rice pilaf, baked potato with extra butter, corn on the cob, mixed green salad with ranch dressing and a large piece of coconut cake.
Somehow, I can hear the liberals scream cruel punishment for giving them McDonalds... and it making its way to the Supreme Court as a reason for a stay of execution...
I bet you hear the liberals say a lot of things in your head.
