Have at it- tell your friends, neighbors, parents, spouse, and kids too- so they can be proud of your transparency! Easy to say so while disguised on line, isn't it?

Are you wanting to justify your watching porn? You don't need my assistance in doping so.

So let me ask all you horrified libs something. How is this any different from raising soda taxes or jacking up the price of cigarettes in NYC in an avowed effort to get people to stop smoking?

And don't give the "health" excuse.

The government wants to control public behavior. If you don't like it, don't let them get away with sin taxes. If you do, you get bs bills like this one in SC. But if you condone sin taxes for one thing, sure as hell they're going to pop up somewhere else.

Haven't seen anyone so far supporting soda taxes in this thread, that s**t is dumb too. This particular bill would be closer to requiring all soda sold in state to come with a non removable cap that shuts off after the "serving size" amount has been consumed in some time frame. Oh, and the gas station selling the soda will have to shell out for the caps.

"But that is stupid because you could just cut off the top of the bottle!" - Why yes, yes you could. Just like within a few days/hours of this going into effect hackers would have figured out an ez free way to crack around it.

So I am trying to figure out your argument here, is it "Liberals have sin taxes I don't like so I should get to impose taxes I like but they don't like" or is it "I don't like this tax but since its from a group I belong to I have a compulsive need to deflect blame to that group I don't belong to"?

Also playing devils advocate (even though I really hate the idea of taxes on things like soda/fast food/booze/ciggarettes as a way of social engineering) at the VERY LEAST those things have concrete evidence that they are actually bad for you, where as the evidence that porn is bad for you(ignoring the fringe addiction type scenarios) generally boils down to: "bible sez so".

You can, but my 13- year old would have to have a credit card. I actually think this may be a good idea. The days of sneaking a peak at your dad's girlie mags are over. These days kids have access to the raunchiest, most foul behavior people can think of. And no amount of filters can prevent them from seeing it on someone else's phone or computer.

I don't think it's good for society.

If an action or inaction of a person does not encroach upon the rights or property of another, by what right does someone proclaim, "You must obey MY will, beliefs, morality and dictates"? How does someone else watching porn affect ANY of you who think this bill is a good idea?

Statist much?

Oh here we go, justifying your personal war on something by trying to say "it will save someone". Why not end the bill of rights, 1st , 2nd , or 4th and 5th amendments if it even curtails something bad just a little? Right?

And don't try to make the porn industry out as some sort of slave industry. The people performing in porn are not kidnapped and or held against their will.

Democrats and republicans , liberals and conservatives are both hypocrites, they try to protect their pet freedoms and then use excuses like above to try to run other peoples lives.
