No, he wouldn't. If he'd tried, he would have gotten his rear-end kicked seven different ways, killing thousands of his own men in the process. As much as he pretended to scoff at staff work, he know perfectly well this was the case. The numbers were crunched, by several general staffs, and there was no way that the Western Allies, much less a single Army, could have taken on the Red Army in full mobilization and a Soviet Union at peak war production.

The man was skilled, talented and did excellent work, but if you're forming your opinion of him based on watching that hagiography of a movie, you're literally getting the Hollywood version. There's a reason Patton wasn't in charge of Overlord.
