Now if we could only get the state and local level to close their doors.

Before NAFTA Mexico had a $2B deficit to the US, now we have a $60B deficit to them.

Do you honestly believe Mexico won't pay in one way or another? They will, ohhhhh they will... guaranteed. Already lost a $1B Ford plant. Death by a thousand cuts.

BTW, the Gov never shuts down. This will be carried over and the budget will be just fine, the gov won't be shut down (as it was under Obama) and all will be well in the homeland.

The claim is that Mexican will 'pay us back' -- through fees for entry into the govt. and tariffs/taxes on the import of their goods and on the export of our goods.

Here's the thing. .....I'm not willing to risk how long it would take for them to ''pay us back'.

I have seen Republicans and Democrats say that the wall is a no vote for them -- whatever happens.

Trump & those who voted for him can blame Democrats but that's not all who is fighting this wall.

Greywar is right Trump will not get enough {R} support to fund the wall. So where does that leave Trump? That leaves Trump taking them on and he knows he has good cards and the big ace is the {R} party getting blamed by the media for the shut down. Of course the media will blame him but should Trump care? in a short time the {R} party will fold and they will give Trump some start up money for the wall.

That is if Trump is really serious about taking them on and getting the wall built. IMO, Trump has to force them and a gvt shut down will do the trick. I can not think of any other way? maybe by shifting funds using EO?

Trump is a negotiator and will let everyone believe "it's the wall or nothing"

As the Dems give him 30k ICE and border cops, no wall and believe they won.

...as he smiles all the way to the border with a big fat check.

If it's good enough for Area 51, a wall of cops and tech works for me.
