Politicians should quit taking advantage of benefits and start working for their salarys. I'm sure if they didn't have these cadillac insurance plans they would have some skin in the game.
It's just more of the same crap that's been going on for years. Politicians are special. Just ask them.....
I wish they could but we'll never see this come to fruition at all. Politicians aren't likely to give up the benefits like healthcare for life for one-term of service.
If you honestly believe either "side" is going to live under the same rules as us peasants than you need some meds yourself.
That is not the point as I see it though. They would be happy to live under the same rules as us peasants if these rules were reasonable.
By exempting themselves they betray the truth about their own public policy, what they think of us ordinary citizens and whom they are really working for.
It is not inevitable that this should happen. It would happen if we allow it or resign ourselves to it.
Does obamacare apply to the members of the House and Senate?
Does it apply to obama and his family?
Yeah, that's what I thought...
Well if you are referring to Obamacare as mandating certain items, basic benefits-- age 26 for kids, etc, etc, etc then the answer is yes. The house and senate and the Obamas have Obamacare. Everyone has Obamacare to a degree.
If you are referring to them buying their insurance through the exchanges whether the state or national portal then the answer is also yes for the House and Senate.
Probably no for the former President, although he may be getting regular Federal Employees Health Benefits, either on Cobra or maybe a retiree.
12 years max. No retirement. Serve the public then get out.
That would insure that many of them would cater even more so to lobbyists in order to secure even cushier jobs outside the political arena once their 12 yrs are up.

Yes the affordable care act absolutely applies to politicians.
They must carry insurance or be fined, that insurance follows the same rules for coverage minimums, age of dependents, etc.
They typically do not have to buy off of the exchange as they are provided insurance by their employer, as most working Americans are.
Is that what you thought?
