It's not that "Liberals" won. It's that Trump supporters were conned. I don't know why you fell for his lies, but you did. Go back to discussions about the wall on C-D last fall and read what people were saying. Time and again all the reasons the wall would never be built were laid out for all to read. None of it is mysterious, but you chose not to believe.
Pressure from the US including funding to stop Central Americans from coming over. They just might start running shuttle now the way trump has been handling the mexico-us relations.

I'm sorry if the OP is disappointed, but most of us who didn't vote for Trump knew it was nothing but a symbolic gesture which was never going to happen. Donald is a businessman who knew Mexico was never going to pay for it, nor were fiscal conservatives going to fund it, but it made for good press.

Agree. I don't want illegals coming into the US and I am a Democrat. However, a wall on the Mexico border would be a waste of money. It's old technology. Drones are becoming cheaper and more common. Drones could take someone across the wall at any point and gently lower them to the ground on the other side. This would deem a wall useless and a complete waste of money.
Besides, more than half of the illegals enter the US legally and overstay their visas. The wall wouldn't impact these illegals at all.
Wrong! 60% of illegals are border jumpers and only 40% of illegals are visa over stayers. So, you're saying don't build the wall just because it won't stop the 40%? What kind of stupid reasoning is that? We can't address both problems but in a different way?
