An attacker doesn't fly backwards and die like in the movies.
It takes several rounds to stop a determined attacker.
Now add additional attackers and figure on a few misses.
I wouldn't want to run out of ammo and die helpless because
some moron thought magazine restrictions will make any
difference to criminals with an already illegal weapon.
That is far from common, just an excuse.

Yet another ignorant anti gun nut, NO ONE is going to even consider talking about gun laws with you.

What kinda of moron lives in new York? Cannot believe Kimber firearms hasn't moved already. Don't live in states that have low NRA ratings. Easy solution. You can't even own a soda over 16 oz in NYC. Flee while you can.

Look, I could see a month. Total. AT MOST.

I may be biased as I think laws like that are dumb though. But come on.
See Safe ACT provisions.

These laws make you a worse Felon Than a child molester.

And these are not high capacity magazines. These are FACTORY GLOCK 17 Magazines.

I OWN High capacity magazines for a Glock 18-full auto pistol
33 Rounds per piece. Makes for good times at the range.

Had this dude had heroin on him, He would have been given a safe space to shoot up!

Under the safe act provision
If you have a collapsing stock on an AR
If you have an A2 Birdcage or any other muzzle device
If you have more than a 10 round magazine
If you have a bayonet lug
If you have any fire arm that isnt bolt action, breech action, or single shot

You are in DEEP chit.

There was a dead line to register these arms with the state.
I never did. I filled out the ATF forms when I bought ARs, AKs, SKS, Mini 14, Mini 30.
NY has no right to know what I own, and tell me whether I can forfeit or sell to the state.
NONE of my weapons were registered with the state.
Had I ever been caught with one... Forget it. Prison for a long time.

I'll NEVER go back to NY.

Oh yeah, and fore grips. Pistol grips. Standard features of an AR are highly Illegal.

Anyone whos ever shot a 16 inch barrel in low light conditions without a bird cage would know what a flash they make...
If you are up in the woods in low light conditions and fire an AR without a bird cage... You are going to have spots in your eyes like you would staring at the sun...

Want a collapsing stock on an AR carbine so your wife/kid can shoot it comfortably?
Felon
Want a foregrip to stabilize the weapon?
Felon
Have a magazine with more than 10 rounds?
Felon
Bird cage? Muzzle device? Flash hider?
Felon

Bad enough you have to have a "reason" to acquire a concealed carry permit in NY.

Pretty funny when every sheriff and deputy in the state told andy they werent going to enforce his law due to being arbitrary. All crimes committed with guns, are illegal handguns. Burners. Pistols with no serial numbers.
The law did not affect the crime rate from shooting deaths in the hoods of upstate NY. Shootnectady, Arbor Hill, Troylet. Etc.
