Well if were gonna eliminate threats, its best to go where the Real Threats are. Syria and North Korea. No one in Afghanistan has been an immediate threat since 2001.
A waste of time if were gonna have boots on the ground. The people that need to be eliminated are in other countries

Thank you, American Expat! This makes me feel a lot better to see some Trump supporters actually disagree with him on this. I'm sorry, but there's no way to spin putting American troops back in Afghanistan as a good thing.
I imagine this will be the first major issue where a majority of Trump voters will question a decision of is.
I question the Syria attack, the Afghan moves. I don't question firing Comey other than why it took so long.

As history has shown, Afghanistan is the place empires go to die. We are just taking a bit longer then most.
IMHO the reason for our war in this place is to control much of the world supply of Opium plants and the morphine they produce. Where do you think Big Pharma gets most of it raw materials so they can addict much of the world?

There is still Vietnam and Korean wars.
My point is Congress needs to be involved when the US puts any of our armed forces in harms way.
Operation Desert Storm with full congress support rallies the country and world support and things get done.
Trump circumventing Congress is not the way fight a conflict. What is the big plan?
I agree but would like to see it go beyond simply 'involvement'. I'd like to see a Constitutional Amendment limiting the length of time a POTUS could deploy combat troops anywhere (60-90 days?) without a formal declaration of war being voted by Congress. Let those so quick to call for war put their names/reputations on the line in writing.
This is Trump's wag the dog move to deflect from the ongoing corruption in his administration. He'll drop a few big bomb to get the media all excited, and it will move the investigation into his Russian ties onto the second page where no one will be paying attention, which is the objective.
