Whatever evidence existed against Trump and/or his associates existed at this time last night STILL exists. Jim Comey had a team working on this. They're still there. Firing Comey did not stop any investigations, especially if they have something on Trump and/or his associates. Dedicated, patriotic people work at the FBI and I'm positive many would be willing to risk prison (if it came to that) to get the evidence into the right hands.
The investigators on whom the prosecutors depend (interviews, collection of evidence, documentation, etc) will now report to a Trump appointee. Jeff Sessions, who allegedly recused himself, has inserted himself into this matter.
The prosecutors depend on the work of the investigators. Clearly, the course of the investigation is compromised.
It serves Comey right for inserting himself into the electoral process, but the timing of his termination could not be worse.
The firing of Comey is a gross abuse of power. Firing the director of the agency that's investigating your campaign is still in search of a rationale. What the WH is putting out right now is nonsense.
As for patriotic people in DC, I'm skeptical (read Devin Nunes). For the well being of our country, I hope you're right.
If Trump is indeed innocent he should insist on the appointment of an independent counsel, and get this aired out and put to bed. But this stinks.
Yes there will be a conclusion to the investigation one way or another. This won't change that. And if the president can't fire anyone who is investigating him, then all anyone with investigative powers who serves at the pleasure has to do to ensure job security is announce they are investigating the president.
Yes, Comey's departure should have happened sooner. He should have seen the writing on the wall and exited gracefully a long time ago. But he thought for some reason he was bullet-proof, probably because the optics of firing him would have been bad. Unfortunately for him, Trump called his bluff.
Tucker Carlson said tonight he would have guests on in the past that were members of congress who off the air would say they wanted Comey fired but were afraid of him and would not say it on the record. Comey had a J Edgar Hoover complex.
King Cheetos is despot and the intelligence community knows this to be true. Firing Comey will not stop the investigation and evidence of Trump's involvement with Russia. This act only makes Trump look more suspicious and Republicans who have held their noses are now turning on the fat orange man.
Exactly, and it calls for an immediate investigation. We don't know if Trump did this in light of the investigation or what? That needs to be looked into. If it, that is obstruction of justice and he should be forced out of office. This is total Nixonian politics. We are above this.
Jeff Sessions, who covered up and lied about meeting Russians in his Senate office, recommended that the guy investigating Trump's Russia connections be canned.

I know many here dont care for the POTUS. But, he speaks the truth, and whenever the left freaks out about something he states, it comes back to haunt them as he spoke the truth..
Comeys testimony got him fired. He knew Hillary was guilty, had the proof and failed the USA legal system and its people.. Take your blinders off people, stop being one sided.
What proof? Republicans investigated her endlessly and could never come up with anything, yet you believe Comey and the FBI simply refused to charge her on supposedly mountains of evidence that no one's actually seen?? Do people actually spend any time considering what they believe anymore? Wow...

I completely agree. Look, being honest here. Do any of us, republicans or democrats, actually know if Trump colluded with Russians or not?! No, none of us know. That said, firing the guy investigating you looks really, really bad.
That said....if.....IF there is some dirt buried down under there, and i brought to light would get Trump possibly impeached....he would resign before he would be dragged into court and forced to testify.
