Flight crew is required to document all incidents.
Had she chosen to take responsibility for herself, there would be no incident.
Sick of all these attention seeking snowflakes.
It's a big mess. Remember America West? My sister got the experience of sitting in a urine-soaked seat on our flight from Philadelphia to Dallas-Ft. Worth. The flight attendant basically shrugged, and she got no response from AW when she wrote to them about the incident. Nothing like sitting in someone else's pee for 4+ hours.

Whoa....
What if the attendants didn't know beforehand and the flight is packed?
Not necessarily defending them - just thinking logistically...
"Woman on United Airlines flight forced to pee in cup."
Sorry, I can't take the passenger's side on this one. When traveling, she should wear adult diapers. Her "condition" is her responsibility, not the airlines.
Okay, this one is on the passenger. One, she knows she has bladder problems, they have depends at every drug store and grocery. When you have chronic physical problems YOU need to preplan and make choices that will assist you. Two) Not much else the flight attendant could do, everyone knows they turn into gulag guards about that seatbelt sign - and they actually have no choice.
The woman ought to be embarrassed, instead she is seeking her 15 minutes of Facebook fame and probably hoping for United to give her some bucks.
Exactly. I have ulcerative colitis.
Wow my brother and I do as well! I had J-pouch surgery in 2002 to be cured, but from 1985 to then my whole life revolved around it. Such as knowing every restroom within 100 miles, watching diet, adjusting for travel, etc. Not fun, but you do what you need to.
My guess if a situation arises where attendants need to get up, they can get up. Attendants collect trash while the seat belt light is on.
This is a silly argument you are making. You have never flown before?
Flown a lot! I will bet that the flight attendants were going down the aisle with their beverage carts during the time they would not allow this woman to use the restroom.
She. could have fallen and injured others on her way to/ from the toilet. They would have blamed the carrier for allowing her to leave her seat.
US carriers transported 719 million domestic passengers in 2016, a new record.
I have seen passengers allowed to use the restroom while the seatbelt sign is on.

Harper claims that the incident happened much earlier in the flight, and that other passengers had been allowed by flight attendants to use the bathroom while the seatbelt sign was on.
She also claimed that:

And to top it all off, once on our final descent… a gentlemen got up from first class (yes the seat belt sign was on, and the plane was flipping tilted) walked right by a smiling flight attendant and entered the bathroom.
