The USDA’s research section studies everything from climate change to nutrition. Under the 2008 Farm Bill, its leader is supposed to serve as the agency’s “chief scientist” and be chosen “from among distinguished scientists with specialized or significant experience in agricultural research, education, and economics.”

This is also true of the Department of Energy not to mention the EPA director who also chooses to ignore science.
It actually was Reagan that made the statement regarding trees causing pollution, his secretary of Interior James Watt was also not tree friendly and a mirror image of Pruitt.
So what? Democrats are always quoting "Bill Nye the Science Guy" and he isn't a scientist either.
I'm thinking a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell and a stint at Boeing designing and inventing parts for the 747 is closer to what most folks consider science than a degree in Public Admin at 'Bama in a program that no longer exists. But that's just me...

what you guys are forgetting is that these people are being installed as DIRECTORS of these agencies, and not as scientists. they dont need to be a scientist because they are not doing science things, they are doing management things.
