I wouldn't get my hopes up yet, by the time the elections come around, more bad things will happen in Germany and I doubt she will be re-elected. I certainly hope not. This is a media trick to try to say that because the liberal won in France, the world is going liberal again. Not going to happen.

Happy for ya. Anti Trump folks are just as much the enemy as liberals....actually liberals might be better than "independents" who hate Trump. I would expect liberals to....Guess takes a sturdy spine to stand up for a man like Trump who wants to save America from its self.
Combined (The European Union) they do. As an entity the European Union, with the combined assets of all it's member nations, should be just as capable fiscally and militarily as the United States. It is past time for all those European nations to step up to the plate and quit sucking off the American taxpayer financed teat.
Remember WWII? The US had to help win the war. I sincerely doubt the European Union countries have enough soldiers, equipment, bombs, etc. to win a war with Russia. Doubt that they could pull together enough to be a real force.
It is to the United States' benefit to keep Europe safe from Russia, especially since Trump has been snuggling up with them.
Of course. As Germany's population has become more and more Islamic recently, her approval ratings were bound to go up. At the rate Germany is circling the drain, I half-way expect her to be formally elected next as Germany's first Sultana of the Islamic Republic of Deustchistan.

What makes you think that? How many of these small European countries have an army capable of fighting the Russians?
