You don't listen to NPR much, do you? Have you also taken a look at their website? While NPR does lean left of center, they also cover an extremely wide range of news stories and document them. Their articles are intelligently written by literate and professional reporters.

Sorry, I'm a long-time regular NPR listener - as in 30+ years, long prior to the Obama administration - and your allegation simply is untrue.
I do think the perceptions of "far right", "right", "middle of the road", "left", and "far left" have changed considerably in recent years. Dwight Eisenhower would be considered a leftist today, whereas he was distinctly a slightly-to-the-right middle of the roader back in the day.

When Bill Clinton was in office and Hillary worked on a health care plan, you would have thought she was trying to convert the country into Satanism...but now that we have Trump in office, no one seems to mind that Ivanka and her hubby (and who knows who else in the family) have offices in the White House and she is conducting meetings in the absence of her father?
