I wouldn't.

But if there are people who want that kind of life, who am I to tell them they can't aspire to that? *shrug*

Yet people can come to the US, legal or illegal, find a job somewhere in the US and do it without any social programs. How do so many immigrants to do? Luck?

Nope. Live at home. Go to community college for the first two years. Do well enough to earn a scholarship at a state university.

Or barter, such as paying for your healthcare with a chicken, as this Republican suggested
https://www.theguardian.com/world/ri...hickens-nevada

"You know, before we all started having health care, in the olden days, our grandparents, they would bring a chicken to the doctor. They would say I'll paint your house.... In the old days that's what people would do to get health care with their doctors. Doctors are very sympathetic people. I'm not backing down from that system."
Why did they take the loan when they can't afford to pay back? In normal people's mind, that's fraud.

I certainly do not know that to be a fact. I thought the complaint was the cost of programs for illegals?

What your not recognizing is that Germany doesn't protect themselves militarily and their system is unsustainable. As with all socialized countries they are running deficits and passing debt to future citizens.

Helping the less fortunate is not bad, but forcing other people at gunpoint to pay for your own compassion is an evil thing to do.

Nobody has any problem with you spending your own money and effort helping the poor.

Much of Germany's debt is from bailing out the rest of Europe. I already said elsewhere I would end foreign aid.

I said in the same place that I would bring our soldiers home. Simply protecting our borders is certainly do able. Germany can't continue to afford to bail out so many others. We aren't going to be able to either as soon as other countries start refusing the dollar as the world currency (and it is going to happen).

Neither of those apply to me since I want to help the less fortunate and don't support the military.
