I've always figured it referred to a concept of masculinity that was so extreme in its macho-ness that it was harmful either to the individual or the group. It could be, for instance, a situation where the concept of masculinity entails copious drinking, unrestrained brawling, coarse womanizing, etc.

I haven't heard the term lately, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's being used in connection with Trump. Think of the violence of his speeches. Or the pussygrabery. Or even the way he eats.

Obama, of course, is the opposite.

I agree, Obama wouldn't be an exemplar for masculinity, toxic or not. Politicians are not what we are talking about, however.

Toxic masculinity is anything feminists don't like about men. The definition is thus fluid depending upon the degree of hate being spewed in any given day.

There isn't really any such thing. There are toxic people and those who are male and act aggressively = 'toxic masculinity' to people who need to label things they don't like. Those people are a whole other form of 'toxic' though.

In today's hyper-aggressive culture toxic masculinity is any guy with a penis. Why do people think transgendering is so popular? Feminists love the idea of a guy willing to chop his noodle off.

Guess everyone seems to forget these horrible men were raised by mothers, the old fashioned kind, they were all women. Men are the product of a woman's efforts.

Tell the mothers to be about it, their handiwork.

Actually, I can't wait for the "can't find a job" complaints from those with their new B.A. in Toxic Masculinity Studies in a few years.

Hilarious. That's pretty much the leftist equivalent of "I have a black friend," isn't it?

"I'm liberal and I claim to never hear that so you must be making it up."
