Don't let the door hit ya, where the Good Lord split ya!
That's what all these American jingoistic twatwaffles told me when I moved to Australia. Yeah why would America want to keep a taxpaying since 13, law-abiding, college educated, professional who enlisted to serve America! You're right you don't need people like THAT! You need more 3rd world immigrants, or right-wing "I've got mine cause I was born in the right situation and can't succeed on a level playing field" types like yourself, running America into the ground. I worked hard and smart- cashed out at 46 and live a great life in a better country. #winning #screwamerica

That is a matter of opinion. My opinion that this is the better of the two.
The answer is simple. Raise wages. Higher wages floats all boats. It would also stop the emigration of our brightest as well.
But more importantly, it would restore our middle class. Henry Ford figured that out 100 years ago, when he raised his basic wage to $5.00 an hour, 3 times higher than the prevailing wage of the time.
His intention wasn't complex; he realized he could sell his employees cars if they were able to afford them, but the effects of the wage soon spread out into all businesses in Detroit, and then to all of Michigan, and eventually to the entire United States. When people have money to spend, they spend it everywhere.
The higher wage made money for Ford, too. Henry got back much more in the sales of finished cars bought by his employees than the raise cost him, and with a happy work force, a lot more cars were made. Happiness increases production.
