Exactly. The Quran doesn't mention genital mutilation with a single word. FGM precedes Islam and has traditionally been practiced the most in Sub-Saharan Africa.

No it's not, it's a Victorian puritan Protestant habit. Both male and female mutilation is considered a sin, and was illegal in Europe since the 1400's. The US is the ONLY major Christian country where males are snipped.

No it's not.

I'm with you. Great article, "Fact vs. Fiction": Fact vs. Fiction | Circumcision: Medically Unnecessary | Informed Choice
Precisely.

FGM is much more damaging than MGM, that does not change the underlying consent/body autonomy issues with either. Just because stabbing a person with a knife is terrible, does not mean that I get off the hook for stabbing someone with a toothpick.

It would be more like comparing a slightly rotten apple to a fully rotten apple.

At some point, they will probably be allowed to do this. Europe gives them special privilges, and liberals love muslims. I expect in the not too distant future, Islam will be allowed to do what they please- if liberals are running the show in America.

For all of you saying circumcision helps hygiene: You know what else helps hygiene?? SOAP and WATER. SMH. No other country in the world engages in ROUTINE MGM besides the USA. Are you saying that European, Asian, African, Australian men are less hygienic than their American counterparts because they possess a foreskin?

You cannot compare male circumcision, to removing the females clitoris, denying the female pleasure from sex. Which removes their sex drive.

Maybe compare it to cutting a males penis head off and you would be equally comparing.
The Foreskin Advantage: Benefits Enjoyed by Males who are Intact (not circumcised)

I suggest you educate yourself on the purposes of a foreskin.
Until the United States outlaws non-medically necessary routine male genital mutilation, we have absolutely no business saying a word about FGM.

ETA: The very simple and basic fact that all men are born with a foreskin should tell you that it has a purpose and is not a defect which needs to be corrected.

Stupid analogy. If you stab someone with a knife, you go to prison. If you stab someone with a toothpick, you may spend the night in jail for assault if the police feel like it. Actually, it is a good analogy because it shows how utterly ridiculous it is to compare FGM to circumcision.

Is it morally acceptable to stab someone with a knife for no reason?
Is it morally acceptable to stab someone with a toothpick for no reason?

Thanks.

I think you believe you made an excellent point, but not in my opinion.
