I think it's hilarious. Take body shots for your boss then get left in the car when it's time to meet your idol. Little guy must be quivering in the fetal position weeping.
Don't work for petty people...
Yeah, I'm not feeling bad for Spicey. He's a paid liar, and he seems to have no qualms about it. He expected loyalty from that fool he works for...?
Really poor taste to send him home, very weird administration where the offspring get to see the pope while one of the workers is sent home. Pretty historical and typical for this administration.
I feel bad for Spicey, but he's fun to watch. He always seems like he's about two seconds from completely losing it. I keep waiting for him to set the building on fire, tear off his clothes and run screaming down the Pennsylvania Avenue.

Nope, he'll just pick up the phone and leak some more stuff to the press to get even for the way Trump treats him.
I'm a lapsed Catholic but I would jump at the chance to meet Pope Francis
I am not Catholic and never was, but I would also love to meet him. Closest I came was watching him.out the window when he came to the WTC a couple of years ago. Also enthralled to see him were two coworkers, one a Hindu and one a Muslim. The Muslim woman said, "He's a rock star!" They appreciate the way he puts a hand out to people of other faiths.
I'm sure Spicer was disappointed. I feel bad for him, too. Probably finds himself in a position he always dreamed of only to realize it's a nightmare.
Spicer is one of the few Catholics in the WH. Normally, when Presidents have a papal audience, they will include top level WH staff who are Catholic.
But Kushner wanted to be included, so Spicer wasn't.
It is a huge deal for a Catholic to meet the Pope and it would have been common courtesy for trump to include Spicer.
Guess that's why you don't hear much about trump's "common courtesy."
I get the impression that Spicer is getting marginalized in the Trump administration. Have to bet he's on the way out. I get the impression these days that he's getting sick of being Trump's tool. This surely won't help that relationship.
