It's Montana.
This sort of stuff might get him elected in Montana.
Hope so.
Montana is notoriously independent and difficult to poll. We don't know what effect this will have. They also tend to not like outsiders interfering in their politics.
I like how people are in support of physically assaulting someone who says something they don't like. Ah, republicans.
Where does it tell why he did it? I just figured the reporter invaded his space. We see reporters do that all the time. They need to learn some manners. Maybe a body slam would teach them some manners.
"Tonight, as Greg was giving a separate interview in a private office, The Guardian's Ben Jacobs entered the office without permission, aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg's face, and began asking badgering questions. Jacobs was asked to leave. After asking Jacobs to lower the recorder, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs grabbed Greg's wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground. It's unfortunate that this aggressive behavior from a liberal journalist created this scene at our campaign volunteer BBQ."
I was right. When one goes into a private office and refuses to leave that is called trespassing. Reporters don't own the world and there are limits to what they are allowed to do.

What is so infuriating was that Gianforte said "we can talk about it later" and the election is tomorrow. Later when? Don't voters deserve to know his position before then?
I don't live in MT, so it doesn't really affect me, but I just hate it when people think the rules don't apply to them. This story is bothering me more than it should lol.
Pretty conclusive video of Gianforte doing this. Also he's a stream access block kinda millionaire that doesn't resonate well with locals. And he was born in NJ.
Will be an interesting race. Homespun democrat with usual baggage vs. a Millionare, body slamming carpetbagger.
Gianforte had a flashback and thought the guy was Michael Kinsley.
Liberals use sticks and stuff and usually attack in packs. Conservatives will just grab ya and start thumping away.
Anyway, I think it's pretty funny. Liberals, who were silent when conservatives were attacked, will now be "outraged". Let 'em howl. The voters in Montana will decide.
"Montana Republican candidate Greg Gianforte body slams a reporter"
I could never be a public official, politician or anybody that has to deal with the press. I probably wouldn't body slam one (if that's what really happened), but I'd be running my mouth and not in a good way. I'd be doomed, seriously.
