What happens when an entire country forgets God and laughs in his face?
DONALD TRUMP
As a born again evangelical christian, it's clear that we are doomed. The days are dark and getting worse. It's the consequence of people forgetting God.

The deep down fundie in me, which still comes up from time to time, has had me wondering of that. My dad says that this is a result of the SCOTUS decision legalizing same-sex marriage. That is the final straw with God so God is giving us over by allowing incompetent leaders to destroy this country.
I tend to believe what you are saying but in a different way. Evangelical Christians have left faith in the teachings of Christ and believe that its up to government to solve the moral problems of this country. In doing so, they have forsaken their own morals. That's how we end up with Donald Trump.

That's a stretch.
Government will always attempt to solve moral problems, be it drug use, obesity, or abortion. In general, I don't see an issue with government being a bit paternalistic.
I was merely saying that TRUMP is the consequence of people ignoring the teachings of the bible and place an celebrity/demagogue in higher esteem than everything we know as morally just.

Maybe we stop hating and killing each other based on the word of a badly written work of fiction?
At least we're making progress and fewer people feel compelled to lie about their belief that the bible is literally true. No one actually believes in the literal truth of the bible, of course; fundies just like to lie and pretend they do in some strange effort to make themselves feel superior to others.

You worry about people forgetting about God but your view of faith "Evangelical Christian" has no acceptance of anyone who doesn't believe as you do. So according to "your faith" where all condemned to hell anyway.
I would rather endure the wrath of man upstairs then a bunch of earth bound hypocrites who do nothing but condemn and hate anyone who doesn't follow their views.
We need to fight religious extremism in our government. That Gianforte guy in Montana is the poster child for separation of church and state. Read through this article. People like this are a danger to our freedoms and way of life.
Speaking at the Montana Bible College in 2015, Gianforte raised eyebrows for his comment that “the concept of retirement is not biblical.”
“The example I think of is Noah,” he said, according to the HuffPost. “How old was Noah when he built the ark? Six hundred. He wasn’t, like, cashing Social Security checks, he wasn’t hanging out, he was working. So, I think we have an obligation to work.”
Does this sound like something that a sane person would say? Would someone with such a philosophy be acceptable to the majority of Americans on a national scale?
Again this is not necessarily true. Because of interpretations, time and simply a lack of understanding when these histories were written down they may not be reflective of what actually happened.
I gave the example of Sodom and Gomorrah previously. Such a story can be explained by a large meteor exploding overhead with the destructive power of a nuclear weapon. They would have no concept of what a meteor is and the enormous destructive capabilities it would have, it must be God.
Why would you call them "pseudo-religious"? Do you know what "pseudo" means?
I sure do. Pseudo-religious evangelicals are the ones who voted for Trump and want to cut America's social safety net and take food and support from the old, the children, the poor, and the sick The religious ones are the one who try to follow the Beatitudes. Google them.
