Living in the world of alternative right-wing media like Hannity, Breitbart, and InfoWars, they believe all negative coverage of Trump is a made up conspiracy between the media and Democrats to overturn the election. Trump can absolutely do no wrong. Every piece of evidence that comes out against Trump is either "fake news" or excusable in some way. With that said, they are quick to believe all kinds of conspiracies about Hillary like Pizzagate and likely believe in birther and 9/11 conspiracies as well. I think this devotion is almost cult-like. Much like religious cults deny facts in the face of overwhelming evidence to disprove it, they cling to it and consider anybody with an opposing viewpoint to be the enemy. That is what we see from these hardcore Trump supporters.
That's not to say that its only Republicans that are guilty of this. Obama had quite a cult-like following as well especially in his early days, but I don't think his was quite to this level.

Well, obama had a hard core cult that supported him despite his treasonous behavior....which included the mainstream media. Often referred to in religious terms like, savior and even said to change climates and lower the seas level.
You are missing the point and making an assumption that a large portion of trump supporters even know what infowars, etc is or where to find it.
Trump opposition is so confused they halted their thought process in favor of being pure reactionary. They can't conceive of a rationale other than their own to attribute to their political opposition.
Oppsoing a viewpoint is acceptable, shutting down political opposition is the stuff of liberal behavior played out every week as seen on TV. Don't know of any institutionalized effort on the repub side to shut down opposing speech.
You are looking in a mirror and confusing yourself with republicans.
