Well, I don't trust any polls, actually, because they all said Hillary was going to win in a landslide, but Rasmussen has him currently at 45%, so the real number is probably considerably higher. These polls regularly over-sample Democrats, and they are based on a relatively small number.
No they did not. Polls indicated he had a 1 in 3 chance. As usual you go on and on about this without apparently understanding probability.
You also are unaware that rasmussians polling method massively over samples republicans. Thus a 45% approval rating for a Republican president is pretty bad.
Approval ratings (any President) are done by polling any adult who answers the phone. For all we know, three quarters could be ineligible to vote. Who cares what they think?
That is the way it has been done in the past and I bet you believed the polls, but now it has no credibility. Maybe you have some new suggestions for polling.
I'm referring to the OP saying "we cannot be moved". What does that sound like to you if not blind faith?
Trump said he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose supporters. One of the few true things he's said.
And, you know, his supporters would be very happy to know that he couldn't be indicted for the shooting while he is sitting as prez. Not only that, they would probably be writing their congressperson to tell them not to remove trump if the republicans dared impeach him for murder. Gotta give 'em credit for being totally unmoving.
Apparently their memories aren't very long... there were probably hundreds of posts that mentioned it during the campaign. Maybe someone could repost it weekly - in response to those who keep giving trump an "A".
What can people do to convince Trumpers that they were wrong to vote for someone so grossly unqualified? Nothing.
It was the same with Nixon. First everyone who voted for him stood behind him after the Washington Post article broke. Then more evidence was leaked and reported in the press and the outrage volume dropped a bit. Then investigators reported there was something they had to look into. And a few more Nixon supporters dropped by the wayside.
In time, more and more Americans started talking about impeachment and only ardent Nixon supporters were still standing by him.
I think that's where we are today. And things haven't been looking better for Trump and his camp. The reports are continuing. The information more damaging. The investigators are digging deeper. I don't expect the clouds to miraculously part for Trump & Company.
The same thing they did back in the late 60s. Violence. That's what it eventually comes down to with every faction when trying to exercise power over a populace that does not agree with them. Violence. Terrorism. Etc. All you have to do is look at history to predict what is going to happen next. It's cyclical and has happened a thousand times before. Clan A tyrannizes Clan B. Clan B grows tired of it, revolts and Tyrannizes Clan A. Etc. Just like the movie Groundhog Day.
There was a rather rare attempt just under 250 years ago to allow the individual his/her liberty and self-determination. It seems not to have fared well though. Too great a percentage of the populace wishes to wield power over the rest... which, of course, upsets the applecart every time.
