This is about the bottom line with global warming as the vehicle to reaching their corporate goals.
What part of Senate Advise and Consent to all Treaty agreements do people not understand? Including Elon Musk. Obama didn't believe the Constitution or the Laws of the USA applied to anything HE personally wanted to do. There is no Paris "deal" without the vote of the US Senate.

It was written to harm the USA and exists only because Obama said it exists.
Big payoff to his buddies and to those that want to harm the US Economy.

If this is really for the "betterment" of humankind, then why does there have to be a deal? Why don't nations just do what's right for the "betterment" of humankind? You don't need to negotiate deals for what is right, you only negotiate deals to get money.

Aside from Tesla and SpaceX, plenty of other companies are urging Trump to be a part of the deal along with the rest of the world.

Maybe Elon Musk could run in 2020?
Elon Musk has collected about 2 or 3 billion dollars from taxpayers installing Chinese made solar panels.

The primary beneficiary of renewable energy subsidies is production so it's competitive. Elon Musk's solar city for example that buys and installs Chinese made solar panels.

I don't think big oil gives a rats ass and may even support this. It's not them that will paying the bill for this and fact is they have a captive consumer. Driving coal out of the market will increase demand for narural gas supplied by say Exxon...

I don't blame any business for taking advantage of tax breaks, you'd have to be some kind of fool not to. This doesn't change the fact Elon Musk stands to lose financially if this agreement is nixed.
